About Michael Sisti
Michael Sisti is the only NCAA women’s ice hockey head coach in Mercyhurst University history. He was named NCAA Coach-of-the-Year in 2005 and the USCHO.com Coach-of-the-Year in 2007. Sisti owns a 462-161-48 record, the second-most wins among active Division I women’s hockey coaches. He has 17 winning seasons in 19 years with twelve seasons of 20-or-more wins and three seasons with 30-or-more wins. Sisti has been named Conference Coach-of-the-Year seven times and has won 16 conference championships and 13 conference playoff championships. His teams have 12 NCAA appearances, four Frozen Four appearances, and one-time National Runners-up. Sisti coached four-time Olympian and three-time Olympic gold medalist Meghan Agosta, the NCAA’s all-time leader in points. He also coached Vicki Bendus, the 2010 Patty Kazmaier Award-Winner, emblematic of Division I’s most outstanding player. Presently, he is coaching 2018 Bronze Medalist Emma Nuutinen and past Olympian Vilma Tanskanen. Over the years, his players have won numerous academic awards and participated in many charity events. Sisti was voted into the Canisius College Athletic Hall-of-Fame in 2002.
