About Philip Friedman

Philip is one of the world’s foremost age group triathlon competitors, consistently placing in the top three in International Triathlon Union Age Group Sprint World Championships (750-meter swim, 20K bike race, 5K run). He has won two world titles – 2016 in Mexico and 2017 in the Netherlands, along with four silver medals (2014, ’15, ’18, ’19) and two bronze medals (2011 & ’13). Philip is a four-time champion at the USA Triathlon Sprint Age Group Championships and is also a four-time runner-up. He has also won gold twice in the ITU Age Group Aquathon World Championships (1,000-meter swim and 5K run) and was the 2018 and 2022 USA Aquathon national age group gold medalist. Locally, he has competed 78 times, winning eight for all age groups, finishing second seven times and third five times. He won his age group in the remaining 58 races. Philip has been accorded All-American honors by USA Triathlon every year since 2010, and in 2013 finished as the top-ranked tri-athlete in the nation. When not competing, the former track & field standout at Washington & Jefferson practices law with the Erie law firm of Conner, Riley, Friedman and Weichler.
